Talent Development
The Talent Development Reform Model
The staff of David Starr Jordan High School selected Talent Development High School (TDHS) as a comprehensive school reform model in May 2005. Full implementation of the TDHS model typically requires at least a four-year commitment between TDHS, David STARR Jordan High School and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). During the time period agreed upon, TDHS will worked in partnership with Jordan High and LAUSD to complete the activities relative to continued planning and implementation of the TDHS model as described. Jordan High School received a 3-year grant through TDHS in conjunction with Bill and Melinda Gates that ended in June, 2008 but continue to implement the TDHS reform model.
Talent Development will be included as a participant in the review and implementation of the approved School Restructuring Plan. It is anticipated that TDHS will work cooperatively with the current principal, the District 7 Superintendent and identified designees, to ensure a continuity of effort in addressing identified student needs.
