Students must bring a note to the Attendance Office in order to clear an
absence.
Third Unexcused Absence
- The teacher will fill out a referral form and forward it to the appropriate
counselor.
- The counselor will contact the student´s parent/s.
- Parents, the student, and the counselor will meet and sign an
attendance contract.
Fourth Unexcused Absence
- Per Education Code 48260, the student is now truant.
- The teacher will complete the referral and forward it to the appropriate
counselor.
- The counselor will notify the PSA Counselor that the student is now
truant.
- The student will be suspended for the remainder of the day and the
parents will be contacted.
- The PSA counselor will make an appointment for a School Attendance
Review Team (SART) meeting with the parent/s and the student.
Students with more than four unexcused absences will attend
Saturday School from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
